High on the hillside on the outskirts of Temple Ewell this charming detached property provides peace, tranquility and stunning views across to Dover and the rolling hills of the Alkham Valley, as far as the eye can see. Situated at the very pinnacle of a private road and nestling in the midst of a large garden that backs onto woodland, it creates a wonderfully calming environment. This warm and friendly feeling is enhanced even further from the moment you step through the front door and see the open archway into the lounge area with its separate music/dining area and bressemer beam and brick fireplace, surrounding the log burning stove. Here you are immediately drawn to the amazing view you can see through the wall of windows and sliding glazed doors that open onto the terrace and the steps down to front garden. There is a fascinating and unusual modern kitchen/breakfast room with cooker and hob as well as fitted shelving and access to the garden and patio that could be enlarged to provide more outdoor seating areas, while just inside the front door you will find a very useful study that could also be used as the fourth bedroom if required. On the first floor the attractive first bedroom includes a walk in dressing room that could be converted to an en-suite and a balcony where you can sit over your morning coffee or night cap in the evening, admiring the vista laid out before you. There is a modern family bathroom and a beamed second bedroom on this floor and a great double bedroom on the second floor. This has a beamed ceiling and even more spectacular views and would be ideal as a teenager’s hideaway or an office, if you want to work undisturbed. The rear garden is mainly laid to lawn with some unusual and attractive shrubs and trees and includes a natural area of woodland as well as a useful pebbledash covered garden shed and a very large double garage. There is plenty of off road parking and access to a footpath through the woods and space to extend the property, subject to the necessary planning permissions. What the Owner says:
I moved here some 3 years ago from London because I really loved the peaceful location and being able to enjoy looking at the surrounding vista and experiencing the local wildlife. We have pheasants, badgers, foxes, wood peckers, rabbits and hedgehogs wandering around the garden and the woods and I have tried to ensure that the garden is ‘wildlife friendly’. We even have some rare butterflies returning to the area after being absent for many years. I will be moving abroad for work so sadly I have to move from my idyllic home but I hope the new owners will love it as much as I have. It is very peaceful and safe here as there is no traffic, which makes it a great area for children and for walking the dogs. There are numerous country walks we can enjoy such as the parks adjacent to nearby Kearsney Abbey and the local nature reserve offers wonderful opportunities to view other rare wild life species
While I appreciate living in the countryside it is also important to be able to go to London regularly for work so the fact that the station with access to the high speed train is nearby is very important. We have very friendly neighbours and the village of Temple Ewell is a delight. There is a local grocery store and the family friendly Fox Inn pub as well as a shop in Kearsney. There is an excellent primary school with an Outstanding Ofsted report and a village hall providing a wide variety of activities.Room sizes:Entrance HallStudy: 11'9 x 7'6 (3.58m x 2.29m)Lounge Area: 15'8 x 12'7 (4.78m x 3.84m)Music/Dining Area: 11'9 x 8'0 (3.58m x 2.44m)Kitchen/Breakfast Room: 15'8 (4.78m) narrowing to 13'9 (4.19m) x 12'0 (3.66m)LandingBedroom 1: 15'8 (4.78m) narrowing to 12'7 (3.84m) x 10'1 (3.08m)BalconyDressing Area: 16'0 x 7'5 (4.88m x 2.26m)Family BathroomBedroom 2: 16'0 x 7'5 (4.88m x 2.26m)Bedroom 3: 12'6 x 10'8 (3.81m x 3.25m)Wrap Round GardenDrivewayDouble GarageWoodlandBrick Built Shed
