The Vendor's View

We were looking for a property with a convenient location that was close to Canterbury city centre without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. This property fitted the bill perfectly, and provided us with the space we needed for visiting family and grandchildren.
We reconfigured the property when we moved here, around 12 years ago, and the living space is all open plan. The large kitchen leads into the dining room and then on into the spacious lounge. There is also a garage and off-road parking for lots of cars; we have a motorhome and a long wheel base car, and there is still room on the drive! The property still has a lot of scope for expansion, and the large loft would easily house two further bedrooms.
The convenient location has been brilliant for us. The bus stop is just 50 yards away, and takes around 10 minutes to get into the city centre, but it s also an easy 20 minute walk from the property. Canterbury is a wonderful city, with every amenity you could possibly need. Everything is within a 20 minute walk from the property, shops, the theatre, restaurants and bars, while the cinema is only a 15 minute walk and Canterbury Cricket Ground is just 10 minutes away. The area is well-known for its fantastic schools, all of which are within walking distance, making this a good place to raise a family.
As owners of a motorhome, we really like the fact that you can join the bypass onto the A2 and from there it s incredibly easy to go anywhere; London, Dover, and France through the channel tunnel. The train links are also great and from Canterbury West you can get the high speed train and be in St Pancras in under an hour, which is ideal for commuters.
This is a real family home and for us it has been all about the location, which we will certainly miss. We are now looking to downsize and relocate back to the countryside now that we have both retired.
