NORTH KENT ESTATES are delighted to offer this former Thames Passenger Vessel which used to operate from London Bridge to Southend. She ceased operating in 1999 and since then has been rebuilt and refitted into a houseboat home.
Accommodation comprises of a wheelhouse leading into a huge lounge area. Stairs lead down to galley, engine room, hallway, master cabin, second bedroom and bathroom.
The lounge is forty-four by fourteen feet and is comfortable and warm at all times due to the excellent oil-fired central heating. Because of the extensive insulation in her walls and ceilings the heating has never been higher than low to medium setting making it economical to run. The boiler also heats the water.
Astern of the lounge are French windows that open onto the sun deck. Steps lead down to a lower deck where there is a barbecue
The fully fitted galley has a six burner gas cooker with grill and two ovens one of which is fan-assisted. There are hand-painted tiles and dining area seating six.
In the engine room is a large freezer, washing machine and dryer.
The engine is in situ and could be put back into service if desired. The engine room also houses a large fuel tank that was used for the engine originally but is now used in conjunction with the large blue tank on the foredeck for water and whole ship heating. If the engine were to be put back into service, the engine room tank would be easy to change back to its original purpose.
The master cabin has fitted wardrobe/storage cupboards and double bed.
The second double bedroom has walk in wardrobe, 6 built in drawers and cupboards.
Bathroom has bath with shower over, hand basin and flush toilet.
Zodiac is fully double-glazed with central heating throughout.
She offers spacious, light accommodation with a warm and cosy feel afforded by the rich wood panelling and detailing.
For commuters, there are local main-line stations at Strood, Chatham and Gillingham providing quick access into London and other connecting stations. Motorway networks to A2, M2, M20 and M25 are short drive away.
