The Vendor's View

I ve always really liked Reading Street with its village feel and its close proximity to the beaches. It s a really beautiful tree-lined street with lots of quaint period properties in large gardens, all set back from the road. So when I saw this house, a gorgeous character property with the lovely gardens at the front and the double garage, I just knew I wanted it.

I love the kitchen, which is large, bright and spacious perfect for entertaining, and my wife and I love cooking together here. My favourite room though is the living room, which faces west and is therefore flooded with light at the end of the day. We have 3 large windows in here and often enjoy watching the stunning sunsets from the comfort of our settee. In the winter it s nice to close the curtains and cosy up in front of the log burner with a glass of red wine.

Reading Street has a good community feel, and the heart of the village is a lovely local pub called The White Swan. There s a church that holds summer fetes etc. and being just a 10 minute walk from the blue flag sandy beach at Joss Bay is just ideal. Broadstairs is a great seaside town with a great live music scene and a plethora of really good pubs and restaurants. The train station offers the HS1 service to London in under 1 hours brilliant if you need to commute. There are two primary schools within easy reach. Nearby Margate is up and coming now, and feels a lot like Brighton these days.

We are now relocating to West Wales to release a dream of ours, but if we were staying in Thanet, we never would have left this house. We will treasure all the fantastic memories we have of our time here during the last 10 years.
